RIP MINTO VAN
-
March 17, 2010
To whoever has been following the ongoing saga of our van. We have some sad news upon trying to pick it up on our recent trip to Toronto we discovered that the violator had done to much damage and after one last drive around southern Ontario we decided to put her down. The memories will last and lifetime and she will be missed. On the upside CMW was a blast and now were back home jamming and planing our next tour slated for late spring early summer. Details coming soon!

Dreams and the Supernatural
Well, as of right now I am sitting in my apartment writing our final tour blog in rainy Vancouver. The feeling is very strange, finding myself pacing back and forth, a bit lost as to what to do with myself. The tour was amazing and fun and stressful, but it really gave the band a lot of clarity and also a little ego boost to know that we can actually travel together. The last leg of the tour was may favorite. Mordon, Kal's home town was really a blast. Good folks all around. Regina started out totally fucked up, if you were at that show, you know why. But turned out to be a total trip. So much fun. Thanks to Eoin from the Library Voices, so rad to hang out and get wild with you. Lethbridge we met up with Manchild and my plal Noah. Super fun. Then, our last show was in Calgary. It was a screwy show from the get go. Wanna know why? Ask me later. But it was amazing to share the stage with 20 centuries of Stoney Sleep, Key to the City and The Paperbacks. What a fun night. I'd like to give a big fuck you to you know who as well.
Thank you to everyone who helped us out, played with us, let us crash with and cleaned our disgusting hotel rooms. Also, they found our van and now we gotta get it from Toronto.
See you soon!
Love,
MINTO!!!!!!!
PS Thanks Henry for the great present. Your band rules! (Friendo fyi).

Van is gone but were truckin on!
The Van got stolen in Toronto, but they didn't get the gear. Who ever has it I hope they enjoy the stench of my dirty road farts. We are working through it and rented a wreak. We had a great show in Toronto anyway. Thanks so much to The Wooden Sky who let us use there van for the evening and running errands to get us back on the road. Montreal was fun at Quai De Brumes thanks to John Colp for letting us use his gear. We got our guts busted eating some elvis style poutine. Ottawa was alright had an early show and meet some new friends in the Loon Choir and Dave Noris. We are playing with the Loon Choir again tonight at a house party in prescott should be sweet. New Van coming tomorrow in Peterbourough Thanks To Our Old Friend Jamie. THANK YOU THANK YOU Thank you! the last few days have been crazy, people have been so generous, and sympathitic to our shitty situation. It would Take more then a stolen van to keep minto off the road.
see ya soon

The East and Beyond.
Current mood: angsty
Category: Web, HTML, Tech
The east was friggin' great bye. In Moncton we played with Lake of Stew and they rule. They worked with Raffi's producer. Check them out. Then came the F'ton show which was huge and super fun. Thanks to all who came. I think my Dad is our new manager.
We are hanging in Toronto at the moment. I'm actually laying in a giant bed of mattresses right now.

Ontario is too Big
Category: Parties and Nightlife
First of all I don't know how many people have actually driven Ontario, but we have been in this province for weeks it feels like. And as the van gets filled with more and more "nose presents" and beef jerky wrappers, the delight at seeing the Quebec boarder was not hard to miss. But I get ahead of myself......
Thunder Bay was a profitable city, not show much because of the show, although Sheila and Tina's home cooking and haunted house style band room was pretty radical. Profitable mainly due to the casino across the street. Deal or no Deal slot machine, I love you. God bless Howie in all his many many forms.
After an insane 13 hour drive, we arrive to Sudbury fucking pissed right off and sneak into a rather dumpy hotel. The next day we hook up with Clayton from Meadowlark Five. They show us a good time and we play our first all ages show, which was filled with teens. Strange.
After a good nights sleep, we made the short drive to North Bay and played at the Underground, an underground club (duh) with a bunch of great bands. It was a fantastic night.
Now, we are in Quebec, Canada's badass stepson. The beer is in the gas stations and you can smokes anywhere. Take that Vancouver. Gonna be hanging with my folks by supper time and going to a cabin to write for a day or two.

We are fortunate to have so many family members along our trip to house and feed us. We spent two days out at the Olafson farm in Manitoba where there were a few close calls on quads and a delicious thanks giving dinner. Now we are just finishing up at The Rainbow Point Lodge
http://www.rainbowpiont.com who are the aunt and uncle of Kalvin's. They have blown us away with their hospitaliy and wild boar burgers.
Off to Thunder Bay!!
inlaws and outlaws - Edmonton to Winnipeg
-
October 10, 2009
After a long and hungover drive, we made it to a freezing assed cold Edmonton and played a little set to a few folks, spent some time with a few old friends and saw a lady fal down. The drive to Saskatoon was a snow one. Cars all over the road in ditches. Luckily not us. Yet.
Saskatoon at Lydias was soooo rad. Stayed over top of the bar and played to a crowd of 350 drunken folks. Saw a fight and met my future wife's parents. Played two long sets. Five hours sleep then played Winnipeg. Won 20$ on the vlts and got harrassed by a very drunken girl. I over heard her say to her friend about us, and I quote, " I'm taking one of them home, you pick". No takers on that offer though. Made a few new friends in the band, Friendo.
We are currently hanging out in Morden, Manitoba, on a beautiful farm, staying with Kalvin's folks.
